Local Night Club Donates Thanksgiving Turkey and Food Gift Packages to Families for Holiday
There is nothing more satisfying on the job than to accomplish your work and knowing that that leadership appreciates having it done right. Additionally, It is a great opportunity and feeling to be entrusted with community related projects that have a positive impact on the lives of others in need.
Volunteers and myself, felt such joy with the outcome of a variety of previous assignments we've taken on over the years, so when I asked permission from leadership to plan and execute a Thanksgiving holiday food drive, there was immediate agreement and I was told to submit the details ASAP.
I was optimistic and energized, but had concerns we wouldn't secure enough donations and kept my number low to meet the goals at hand. The boss through a number out; fifteen food gift packages and boldly stated "make it happen". All I could say is "okay".
The spirit of giving touched us all and leadership suggested going the extra mile by including: turkey's with the non-perishables to give household real Thanksgiving dinner experience. With the cooperation of staff members, a vendor and the company; we created 15 boxes consisting of: - A full thanksgiving meal - Stuffing - Potatoes - Vegetables - A turkey - Dessert The term satisfaction doesn't quite fill the emotion we felt when this project was completed. We created a moment to be remembered and the start of a tradition we're already looking forward to doing again next and beyond.
A hearty "thank you" goes out to the Pin Ups Thanksgiving team and our partners in the joy of giving. Together we not only enjoyed Thanksgiving, we made a difference by participating in the labor and love of Thanksgiving too.
